The Clue by the Bakery

A detective puppy examines floury paw prints beside a bakery and a gray kitten carrying buns.

The dog walked past the bakery. White paw prints marked the ground by the door.

He took out his magnifying glass. The prints led to a kitten with a basket.

The kitten had white paws. The dog asked why they were covered in flour.

“I helped the baker make dough,” said the kitten. “These buns are for our neighbors.”

The dog looked in the basket. A clean towel covered the warm buns.

Mystery solved! He helped carry the basket. Their neighbors smiled.
